Monitoring the Reserve

Helen Kettles, from DOC, led a team to complete annual monitoring for the marine reserve this summer. They successfully completed survey for rock lobster (sex, size,abundance), kina and paua (size and abundance) and fish (size and abundance). That means they now have data for 2009, 2010 and 2011 post marine reserve gazettal (2.5 years).
